Hilscher Qualifies for Suwanee Council Race

The attorney is seeking to succeed Brooks on the council.

The lone announced candidate for Suwanee City Council in 2012 has made it official by qualifying Monday.

and vice chairman of the Suwanee Downtown Development Authority, formally qualified to succeed Jace Brooks on the council. The election will be July 31, with all voting at City Hall.

Hilscher also has launched a Facebook page for her council campaign.

Whoever is elected to the council post, it will mark more new blood among Suwanee elected officials. Jimmy Burnette, in his first term as mayor, is the only elected official who has been at City Hall since before 2006.

Qualifying continues through noon Wednesday.
