There are several matters on both the Republican and Democratic ballots, including non-binding questions. However, one item has particular significance in and around Suwanee: the Gwinnett BOC District 1 race.

Republicans Jace Brooks and Laurie McClain, both with ties to Suwanee, are squaring off for the vacant seat. Brooks is a former City Council member in Suwanee, and McClain is an accountant with an office in Suwanee. No Democrat has qualified to seek the office in November, so the Republican winner will become the new District 1 representative.
