Peachtree Corners Candidates Shaping Up

Mike Mason will be the new mayor for what will become Gwinnett's largest city.

The election qualifying period ended at noon Wednesday for anyone seeking to fill one of the seven posts for the new city of Peachtree Corners. Election will be on March 6, 2012.

As of the deadline, 21 candidates have officially announced their intentions of running. The seven available posts includes a mayor and six council members.

The area officially becomes a city on July 1, and will have about 38,000 residents, making it the largest city in Gwinnett County.
