Community members shared their opinions on the looming debt crisis and the Huffington Post gave them a national platform to sound off.

Talk locally, be heard nationally. That's what can happen when Perry Hall Patch readers talk and Huffington Post listens.

This firefighter from Perry Hall can't be real. The debt ceiling has nothing to do with borrowing more money. It has to do with paying the money back that has already been spent. It is about paying our existing bills. Capping spending is a totally separate issue which I agree we should do but not as a condition of increasing the debt ceiling.

Mike - It's the Huffington Post. It publishes ignorance - much like it's conservative counterpart Fox News. To be fair though, both future and past spending are related if you want to look at it from a different light. I actually give this firefighter credit - he is more educated about this issue then the average American. It's also why I'd never author a blog column here. This is a liberal funded website. However, the existence of true neutrally funded media is extremely rare, and the individual editors and staff here at PHP make it outstanding despite it :)
