QuikTrip Begins Construction at Key Suwanee Site

Trees are getting special attention at the former residential property.

Crews have begun preliminary construction work at a prominent Suwanee site that eventually will have a QuikTrip store. And as promised, the venerable and picturesque trees are being preserved.

QuikTrip closed on roughly 2 acres of the 3.9-acre property at 3359 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road (at Satellite Boulevard) earlier this year, and also made a voluntary $15,000 contribution to the city's Public Arts Fund. City officials were involved with the development plans all along.

Part of the property remains for sale. It is not known how long construction of the new QT store will take or when it will be open for business.

Suwanee officials allowed commercial zoning of the property late last year; all other quadrants at the intersection already have been developed commercially. However, the city refused to allow a car wash to be built on the same parcel as the QT store, and that is the portion that remains for sale.

The former owners of the residence now live in Buford.
