Mitt Romney, the current delegate leader among GOP presidential candidates, is making a campaign stop in south Gwinnett on Sunday, according to his website.

Romney, fresh off a victory in the Washington state caucuses on Saturday, plans a complimentary pancake brunch at Brookwood High in Snellville from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.

"Join Mitt and Team Georgia for a pancake brunch at Brookwood High School," the post reads.

It's another sign that other GOP candidates are not writing off Georgia's 73 delegates to Newt Gingrich, who currently leads in Georgia polls leading up to Tuesday's primary voting.

Romney's wife, Ann, made an appearance in Alpharetta last week and Rick Santorum, currently No. 2 in the delegate count, has made stops in Cumming and Brookhaven in recent weeks.

Gingrich, who once represented Georgia in the U.S. House, has called this state crucial to his election success.

Early voting ended Friday, March 3, in Gwinnett. Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

The latest delegate count shows Romney with 180, Santorum with 90 and Gingrich with 29. A candidate needs 1,144 delegates to secure the Republican nomination.

Patch will have more on Super Tuesday developments in Georgia.Β
