SculpTour 2012 App Available on iTunes

A digital guided tour of the walkable outdoor display is available for smartphone use.

Again putting a digital touch on their well-known arts program, Suwanee city officials have developed an app for the SculpTour 2012 public art display.

According to a city news release, City Hall is the starting point of the 2012 Suwanee SculpTour guided audio tour/podcast. It provides walking directions to and information about each of the 15 sculptures included in the exhibit, as well as insights from the 11 participating artists.

, Annette Phelps, City Hall receptionist, and Council Member Dick Goodman (also chairman of the Public Arts Commission) lead the tour. The hosts offer clear walking directions, information about each piece, and gentle humor.

Each year, SculpTour is organized the Public Arts Commission and funded solely through corporate and private donations. One sponsor, the Gwinnett Convention & Visitors Bureau, sponsored the podcast.

The podcast can be downloaded from iTunes -- search "Suwanee SculpTour" at theiTunes store. Also, the audio tour can be accessed via the SculpTour page at the city website.
