Suwanee Announces SculpTour I Winner

'Mother & Child' will be purchased by the city to be part of the permanent collection.

The winner has been announced for Suwanee's first SculpTour initiative.

"Mother & Child," which has been displayed in front of City Hall since last year, received the most online and paper ballot "People's Choice" votes, the city announed Wednesday.

This sculpture is the work of Eluisa Altman of New Jersey. The minimally detailed sculpture is being recast in bronze and will be displayed, when it's completed in a couple of months, in front of City Hall. The city's Public Arts Commission has paid $15,000 for the sculpture, city officials said. All funds used in SculpTour are from donations and private sources.

. SculpTour II will be launched later in 2012.
