President Obama made the first State of the Union speech of his second term Tuesday (February 12). And there was lots of news coverage and analysis.
"We can’t just cut our way to prosperity," the president said in Washington.
Also, as the New York Times noted, there was no new stimulus plan, no mission to Mars, no ambitious plan to address the hangover from the housing market crash.
Here's a sample of news coverage of the president's speech:
- In an Age of Spending Cuts, Making the Case for Government -- New York Times
- In State of the Union address, Obama lays out his second-term agenda -- Washington Post
- Obama seeks to reignite economic agenda in speech -- Los Angeles Times
- Full text -- Wall Street Journal, via White House.
