Two More New Restaurants Planned for Suwanee

City Council OKs alcoholic beverage licenses for establishments in key areas.

The expanding Suwanee dining scene soon will get two more additions.

Hacienda Corralejo Mexican Flair & Tequila Bar on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and Hammerhead Seafood on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard were granted alcoholic beverage licenses by the City Council on Tuesday.

Hacienda Corralejo is a makeover of a previous business, and Hammerhead Seafood will occupy the former Antigua building.

Previously, Twisted Taco announced plans to open near Taco Mac, and Tilted Kilt opened this month on Satellite Boulevard near I-85. Moondance Restaurant & Lounge has featured upscale dining, dancing and live entertainment since October.

Cheryl Lamm, who worked for Barnacle's in Gwinnett for 18 years, will be the operator of Hammerhead Seafood. She said Tuesday that she hopes the establishment will be open by the end of April.

(Suwanee is) a pretty little town," she said. "I like it a lot."

Also Tuesday, the council recognized North Gwinnett High art teacher Debi WestΒ and City Hall code enforcement officer Susan Carpenter.

"I don't teach art, I teach children," West said. "They amaze me every single day."
