TRAFFIC LIGHT FOR KEY INTERSECTION: Gwinnett County officials, after conducting a study at McGinnis Ferry Road at Scales Road in Suwanee, agree that a traffic signal is warranted. Two people were killed and one seriously injured at the intersection in November.

IMPROVEMENTS AT ANOTHER INTERSECTION: Just up McGinnis Ferry at Peachtree Industrial, county and Suwanee officials will be upgrading "pedestrian access facilities" at the interesection. This one regularly ranks among the most dangerous in the city.

GCPS RESOURCE OFFICER INJURED: An officer for Gwinnett County Schools was seriously injured when hit by a vehicle at Lanier High in Sugar Hill. Police said the motorist did not obey the officer's signal to stop.

GWINNETT READY FOR NEW CAR TAX: Tax commissioner's officials say they are prepared for the new "title tax" that will go into effect for car buyers on March 1. It ends the "birthday tax" for vehicle buyers.
