News? There again was plenty in Suwanee and Gwinnett last week. Let's take a look back.

The former Gwinnett District 1 commissioner, who resigned in May upon pleading guilty to federal bribery charges, began seeking character references for her upcoming sentencing. In an email, she contacted several prominent Duluth and Gwinnett figures.

The city continued its good financial run by proposing a cut in the key property tax rate -- for the third straight year.

It seems that the drop in gas prices never lasts for long. Lately, prices in Suwanee have topped $3.50 per gallon.

The latest American space expedition was to the Red Planet. The rover named Curiosity -- with a $2.6 billion price tag -- completed the journey of 352 million miles on Aug. 6.
