Top Suwanee Park Gets a Makeover

Suwanee's top park is getting a type of facelift as officials get it ready for more summer entertainment activity.

A landscaping company was hired to repair the Meyers Zoysia in some areas of . However, this year officials have installed other types of sod as they experiment with such factors as durability and shade recovery.

"Different areas (of the park) have different traffic patterns, drainage, sunshine," City Manager Marty Allen noted.

According to city officials:

• Tifsport Bermuda is planned for each side of the amphitheater stage, and the area between the seating area and Town Center Avenue.
• Tifgrand Bermuda, which is more shade tolerant, will be placed around trees in the area between the seating area and Town Center Avenue.
• Zeon Zoysia is scheduled for the upper third of the amphitheater seating area and for patching in the middle and upper area of the park.

Already in 2012, Town Center Park has hosted Woofstock, a massive pet festival, Arts In The Park, and a concert by Yacht Rock Schooner.
