How did the Suwanee Sports Academy fare in an inspection by health officials?

You may not know that the, seemingly always busy with major sports tournaments, also is in the food business.

And evidently, they have the food preparation bit down. The restaurant portion has received an excellent grade in a recent health inspection from the Gwinnett Health Department.

Its grade: A/91.

Inspection date: April 4, 2012. Previous inspections: 1/27/11 (A), 10/8/11 (A).

  • 3 spray bottles on shelf not labeled. All working containers must be labeled with common name. Spray bottles were labeled.  Corrected On-Site.
  • No thermometer provided for checking the temperatures of foods. A thermometer capable of measuring the temperature of thinly sliced foods must be provided (i.e. digital thermometer).
  • Outsides of fryers and grill observed with grease buildup. Nonfood contact surfaces of equipment must be cleaned at a frequency to prevent accumulations.
  • Floors under deep fryer with buildup of grease. Physical facilities of building must be maintained. Increase cleaning frequency.  New Violation.
