A race for mayor and the possibility of Sunday alcohol sales at retailers did not bring Suwanee voters out in large numbers last week.

Just 57 people voted in the first week of early/absentee voting at City Hall, according to Elvira Rogers, city clerk who is presiding over the voting.

That is less than 1 percent of the more than 9,700 registered voters on the rolls at City Hall election headquarters.

Votes will be tallied on election night, Nov. 8, so there's no way to know how candidates and the alcohol-sales issue are faring.

Also, two City Council races are on the ballot, although one has only potential write-in opposition.

Early voting will continue through Friday, Nov. 4. After a day off, the official election day will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
