If all goes to plan, the Walmart slated to be built in Holly Springs will have a grocery center, general merchandise, a screened-in garden center and indoor tenants such as restaurants and hair salons.
That is what BRR Architecture, the firm designing the store, told the Holly Springs City Council on Monday, according to the Cherokee Tribune.
The store will not have a drive-through pharmacy, quick-lube center or gasoline sales.
The council during its called meeting approved a request from the company for a conditional use permit to operate a class III big box retail structure near the intersection of Holly Springs Parkway and Hiram Way.
The Holly Springs Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the request in special called meeting on Monday.
The total square footage of Walmart be just over 163,000 square feet and a retail shopping center will be built across the parking lot from Walmart, according to the Tribune.
The shopping center is slated to contain retail parcels totaling 30,000 square feet. Walmart will have 733 parking spaces while the outparcels will have 120 spaces.
Construction on the space will begin later this year and the facility could open sometime in 2014. Between 250 and 300 jobs are expected to come to the area.
