Prominent Old Town Suwanee House for Sale

The Rhodes House was built in 1880.

One of the most prominent homes in Old Town Suwanee is on the market. The Rhodes House, which was built in 1880, is for sale. Price: $475,000.

Among the unique features of the Victorian-style house: eight bedrooms, eight fireplaces, and a main dining room that seats 12 people. It's 4,000 square feet, and on a 0.6-acre corner lot.

The listing came online this week, according to Gwinnett-based agent Randal Winfield, himself an Old Town Suwanee resident. He said the owners, who restored the house over several years, are "ready to move on."

Among the restorations are refinished floors, trim repairs, and repairs to the railing on the wrap-around porch.

It is not known what, if any, impact the listing and sale could have on the city's effort to have a National Register Historic District established in Old Town. Co-owner Danna Nelson attended a City Hall meeting in April in support of the district.
