Local Muslims Give Message of Peace

Ahmadi Muslims all over the country have been holding blood drives since August 11th in an effort to save thousands of lives.

Ahmadi Muslims of Georgia Chapter got together at their Baitul Baqi mosque in Norcross yesterday to hold a blood drive in honor of the 9/11 victims as part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s second annual blood drive campaign ‘Muslims for Life’.

‘Muslims for Life’ campaign comes third in the series of campaigns launched by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community U.S.A in the last few years. First came ‘Muslims for Peace’, then ‘Muslims for Loyalty’ and  last year ‘Muslims for Life’ campaign was launched in an effort to convey to fellow Americans that Islam is a religion of peace which teaches its followers to be loyal to their country of residence and its belief in the sanctity of life.

Ahmadi Muslims all over the country have been holding blood drives since August 11th in an effort to save thousands of lives. The final numbers will determine if the organizers were able to reach its 11,000 units target set for this year in the coming days.

In this effort, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (GA Chapter) scheduled blood drives at multiple locations all across Georgia in collaboration with Red Cross, Life South and Life Assurance. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (GA Chapter) was the sole sponsor for some blood drives while others were co-sponsored with local educational institutions. Some worth mentioning blood drives include those held at Georgia Tech (Atlanta), University of Georgia (Athens), Mall of Georgia (Buford), Discover Mills Mall (Lawrenceville), Town Center Mall (Kennesaw), Dalton State College (Dalton), Wal-Mart (Dalton) and Tanger Outlets (Commerce).

Yesterday's blood drive was well received by people and media alike. 11alive, myfox Atlanta and CBS Atlanta covered the event.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, GA Chapter will conclude its campaign with two simultaneous blood drives scheduled for September 11th at Red Cross Blood Donor Centers in Duluth and Alpharetta. All those interested in donating blood under this campaign should call Red Cross and schedule appointments using the code ‘M4LIFE’.

The organizers hope that public will continue to show support the message of life this campaign brings and keep on taking part in it every year onward.

Great job! It's very important to show one's intent with actions rather than just paying lip service.
