GCPS Names New Principals at Elementary Schools

Annistown and Norton get new leaders.

The Gwinnett County school system has named new principals for Annistown Elementary (Shiloh Cluster) and Norton Elementary (South Gwinnett Cluster) schools for the 2011-12 school year.

Steve Frandsen, assistant principal at Ferguson Elementary, was named to lead Annistown. Terry Watlington, once the principal at Kanoheda Elementary, was named to lead Norton.

Frandsen also has been assistant principal at Lilburn Middle School. He has a doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern. He replaces Lorraine Henry, who is retiring at the end of June.

Watlington comes to GCPS after having been chief of staff of Fulton County Public Schools. She has a doctoral degree from Mercer University; she replaces Daundria Phillips, who will become assistant principal of the new GCPS online charter school.
