Help Pick New Principals at North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge

Web-based surveys are being conducted by GCPS.

A restructuring with the Gwinnett County school system has created unique opportunities at North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge high schools.

Ed Shaddix will be leaving as principal of North Gwinnett, and Kevin Tashlein will be leaving as principal of Peachtree Ridge. Both are headed for supervisory positions at the GCPS central office in Suwanee. However, their replacements must be named first -- and thus the opportunities.

The North Gwinnett website now has a Principal Selection Survey link, which includes a letter from Dr. Frances Davis, chief human resources officer for GCPS.

A similar link is on the Peachtree Ridge website.

The web-based surveys will be accessible through Oct. 31.

"The Gwinnett County Board of Education and Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks would appreciate your response to a web-based Principal Selection Survey. This survey will help school system leaders gather input regarding the selection of the new principal of North Gwinnett High School," Davis' letter to North Gwinnett reads.

The surveys seek input in six areas: evaluation/planning, judgment, knowledge of curriculum, problem solving, leadership, and oral/written communication (see attached screenshot.)
