In Suwanee, the Halls Are Alive With the Sound of Students

The 2011-12 school year gets under way Monday.

One down, 179 to go.

Public school students in Suwanee and elsewhere in Gwinnett County went back to school Monday. Suwanee's three high schools -- Collins Hill, Peachtree Ridge and North Gwinnett -- started the process with bells ringing at 7:10 a.m.

Gwinnett Schools Superintendent Alvin Wilbanks issued the following statement, "As a district, we have accomplished a lot of work over the summer months, and in these last few days leading up to this first day of school. As a result, we were ready for students today when those first buses started rolling. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year and we are off to a great start."
