Level Creek School Counselors Honored

Two Level Creek Elementary counselors are being honored this week for their commitment to students.

The work of the two counselors -- Terese Danner and Krisinda Dean -- earned their school special recognition from the American School Counselor Association (ASCA).

And, on July 2, the district will accept the honor at ASCA's annual conference in Philadelphia, Pa.

The special honor: "Recognized ASCA Model Program," or (RAMP) designation, highlights schools committed to a comprehensive counseling program with a focus on education.

In a press release, Richard Wong, ASCA’s executive director, said the honorees are to be commended.

"This year’s RAMP honorees have shown their commitment to students and the school counseling profession," he said. "This designation distinguishes these schools and encourages school counselors nationwide to continue to strive for success."

Officials said there are 21 schools in the Gwinnett County public school system that have attained the RAMP designation.
