New Principals Coming at North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge

Shaddix and Tashlein will be moving to new positions with GCPS.

Two Suwanee high schools will be getting new leaders, as the current principals will be moving to new positions with Gwinnett County Public Schools.

Ed Shaddix of North Gwinnett and Kevin Tashlein of Peachtree Ridge will be moving to area superintendent positions with the Suwanee-based system.

Shaddix addressed the change in the Oct. 18 edition of the News at North Gwinnett newsletter:

"While I am excited about the prospect of this new role, I am saddened to be leaving North Gwinnett. Professionally, this new position is a dream come true; however, this change will be bittersweet as my time here at North Gwinnett has been beyond compare. I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished since I joined the school in the summer of 2008."

According to the Gwinnett Daily Post, the moves were part of a reorganization at GCPS.

“We have combined a few positions, but it wasn’t done with (money) in mind one way or another,” Wilbanks said at Thursday's school board meeting. “Anytime you can avoid more money, do that, but I didn’t go into it to really save money. We did, as we always try to do, keep the organization as flat as possible.”

Shaddix also said in the newsletter:

The process for selecting a new principal for North Gwinnett High will begin shortly. There is an opportunity for you to contribute to this process by providing feedback through a survey that will be available on our website.
