Michele Smith takes over at the Smithtown Road school.

Suwanee Elementary is getting a new leader, along with two other Gwinnett schools.

Dr. Michele Smith will be taking over at the Smithtown Road school, according to a Gwinnett schools' news release. Currently Smith is assistant principal at Jenkins Elementary in Lawrenceville.

Previously, Smith was an instructor at Dacula Middle School and Cedar Hill Elementary. In social work, she has a master's degree (from Wayne State University) and a bachelor's degree (from Western Michigan).

Smith will replace Dr. Kimberly Smith.
