Suwanee Schools Fare Well on CRCT Tests

At least 50 percent of third- and eighth-graders exceed state standards.

Most third- and eight-grade students in Suwanee public schools fared well in the Criterion Referenced Competency Tests, according to results released this week.

At least 50 percent exceeded state standards in tests on reading, language arts, math, science and social studies.

The CRCTs are designed to assess if students have acquired the skills and knowledge goals outlined in the Georgia Performance Standards (GPS). According to the Georgia Department of Education website, the information is “used to diagnose individual student strengths and weaknesses as related to the instruction of the GPS, and to gauge the quality of education throughout Georgia.”
