2 Suwanee Teachers in Teacher of Year Finals

Six remain in competition for the top spot in Gwinnett schools.

Teachers from Peachtree Ridge High and North Gwinnett Middle of Suwanee are among six finalists for Teacher Of The Year for Gwinnett County schools.

Lindsey Cafarella of High and
Sarah Black of North Gwinnett Middle are among a group that includes teachers from all school levels, according to a GCPS news release.

Cafarella is a world history instructor, Black an orchestra teacher.

Other finalists for the 2012 honor are Brittany Palazzo of Mulberry Elementary,Β  Jennifer Dunn of Pharr Elementary, Keri Beth Tidmore Jones of Dacula Middle,Β  Aundrea Muth of Mill Creek High.

A GCPS committee narrowed the field from 25 semifinalists who had been selected from a list of 129 local school TOTYs.

The annual Teacher of the Year banquet and the announcement of the winners will be Thursday, Nov. 3.
