Should Paula Deen Go on 'Dancing With The Stars'?

Reports suggest that she may turn up on the prime time entertainment show. What do you think?

Embattled celebrity chef Paula Deen may not be done with television as a means of damage control.

According to the Huffington Post, celebrity journalist Rob Shuter reported that an insider close to the ABC competition series said, "The producers would love to have Paula join the cast of next season ... They have a history of casting controversial people like Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin. If Paula says ‘yes,’ you can add her to that list.”

A spokesperson for ABC said, "We don’t comment on casting until we officially announce."

Deen's recent tearful apology on the "Today" show did not quiet the controversy over her reported use of racial slurs, which surfaced in a lawsuit. Several sponsors, including Walmart and Target, have dropped the Georgia-based chef.

Before "DWTS" began its 2012 season, ABC reportedly asked Deen to join the show in the wake of her announcement that she has Type 2 diabetes, HuffPo reported.

The latest reported courtship could be the result of a new Deen effort at damage control. The disgraced star has hired Judy Smith, the woman who inspired "Scandal's" Olivia Pope.

The next season of "DWTS" will begin in the fall.
