Another Move Up for North Gwinnett

Also, Peachtree Ridge of Suwanee breaks into the AAAAAA rankings.

Congratulations, North Gwinnett, you're No. 1.

The Bulldogs of Suwanee, now 2-0 after Friday's 35-0 win over Gwinnett rival Grayson, are the new No. 1 team in the Georgia High School Football Daily AAAAAA ranking released Monday. The rankings also are published in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

North handed Grayson, the 2011 state champion, its worst loss ever. The 35-0 margin in the third quarter set off a running clock.

The Bulldogs scored on an interception return, fumble return and two safeties, according to ghsfdaily.com. QB Hayden Sphire was 13-of-25 passing for 136 yards.

Another Suwanee team, Peachtree Ridge, cracked the top 10. The Lions are 2-0 after Friday's win over Parkview.

This Friday, the Bulldogs are idle. Their next game is Sept. 13 at defending state champion Norcross. Peachtree Ridge is idle and hosts Duluth on Sept. 13. Collins Hill (1-0) hosts Dacula this Friday (Sept. 6).
