Championship Saturday: Will Auburn Have Miracle Finish in SEC Title Game?

FSU, Ohio State and Auburn all have games Saturday that could decide the BCS title game.

Welcome to the final weekend of college football for 2013. And Atlanta and the Southeastern Conference are still in the thick of title talk.

This Saturday (Dec. 7), the three top teams in the Bowl Championship Series standings will be involved in league championship games.

This includes No. 3 Auburn, which will play Missouri in Atlanta (4 p.m., CBS) for the SEC title. As everyone knows, the Tigers have the miracle finish down, having beaten Alabama and Georgia in amazing last-minute finishes.

No. 1 Florida State will take on Duke in Charlotte (8 p.m., ABC) in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game, with a win giving it a spot in the BCS title game.

Also, the Seminoles got a big plus Friday, with the news that quarterback Jameis Winston will not face prosecution in connection with an incident that occurred in 2012.

No. 2 Ohio State must beat Michigan State in the Big Ten title game in Indianapolis (8 p.m., FOX) to be assured of a spot in the BCS title game.

So, Auburn must win and hope for some help in the other games to reach the BCS title game. It has happened before. In 2007, the No. 1 and No. 2 teams both lost in December to open the way for LSU (with two losses) to play for the title.

If Auburn does not reach the title game, it would mark the first time since 2005 that an SEC team would not win the BCS title (Texas won in 2005.)
