Chopper Makes Another Opening Day Forecast for Gwinnett Braves

The G-Braves' groundhog mascot hopes skies will clear up for the season opener at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville on Thursday.

During last week's cold spell, the Gwinnett Braves' mascot, Chopper, issued a weather guarantee that temperatures on Opening Day would be warm and springlike. The groundhog has updated his forecast and now is calling for rain Thursday, but hopes skies will clear before the 7:05 p.m. first pitch against the Charlotte Knights at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.

According to the Gwinnett Braves' website, if it does rain Thursday but stops before the scheduled game time, the game will go on as planned. If it continues to rain past the start time, there will be a rain delay.
