Colquitt County could not make it 2-0 in Gwinnett County in 2011, as Grayson rallied Friday night for a 35-31 victory that put the Rams in the AAAAA title game.
Grayson will take on Walton, which knocked off Lassiter in Friday's other semifinal game. The title game will be Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Georgia Dome.
Aided by two pass-interference calls that kept the drive alive, Grayson scored the winning TD with 28 seconds left on a 6-yard TD pass.
Colquitt, which defeated Grayson in the semifinals a year ago, twice overcame two-touchdown deficits. The Packers tied the game 28-28 on Willie Woodyard’s 4-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter.
“We’re finding ways to win games,” Grayson coach Mickey Conn said of his 14-0 squad.
