Gwinnett Braves at Home for Key Series vs. Durham

First place at stake at Coolray Field.

A pennant race and special promotions galore will be available for baseball fans starting Thursday night at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. The Gwinnett Braves host the Durham Bulls for a four-game series.

The G-Braves and Durham (a Tampa Bay Rays farm team) are tied for first (35-30) in the South division of the Class AAA International League. Brandon Beachy will make a rehab start on the mound Thursday for Gwinnett; game time is 7:05 p.m.

Also, the G-Braves announced that infielder Matt Young will be rejoining them from the parent team in Atlanta. He replaces outfielder Jason Heyward, who was recalled after a two-game rehab stint.

Among the special promotions this weekend:

-- Thursday is City of Lilburn Night.

-- Also on Sunday, the G-Braves will host Latino Fan Fest, sponsored by Telemundo. There will be performances on the plaza, music, food and player autographs.
