The Gwinnett Braves got three hits from their newest offensive star, Tyler Pastornicky, and they went on to beat Norfolk 5-2 on Friday in Norfolk, Va.
Pitcher Todd Redmond allowed four hits and one earned run in five innings to pick up the win. Mauro Gomez added two RBI for Gwinnett. The G-Braves remain a half-game behind Durham in the International League South.
The teams play again Saturday evening in Norfolk. Julio Teheran (10-1) will be on the mound for Gwinnett.
