Gwinnett Gets a Taste of Pickleball

It's a game that's a mix of table tennis, paddle tennis, badminton and tennis and is becoming one of the fastest growing sports in the country.

Introduced in 1965 in Seattle, Pickleball has gained in popularity as it spreads across the country. It's played on a smaller court, easy to learn and fun for families, active adults and seniors.

During the Gwinnett Senior Gold Games currently underway, a demonstration and clinic has been set up to introduce you to the sport. Following are the details. Also included is a video showing how the game is played.

Pickleball is pretty similar to other racket sports, like tennis, racquetball and badminton, but the net is lower and the court is smaller, so it is easier on the joints.

Pickleball is easy for beginners to learn – but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive sport for experienced players.

The clinic is free and equipment is provided
