Are you ready for another round of picks?

at Duluth: Next week’s home showdown with Peachtree Ridge for the Region 7-AAAAA championship may be on North Gwinnett’s mind this week, but looking ahead could be dangerous for the Bulldogs (7-1, 5-0). Duluth (4-4, 2-3) not only is a formidable opponent, the Wildcats still have scant hopes to reach the playoffs. In order for that to happen, the ‘Cats have to win their last two games (including next week at Mill Creek) and the loser of the Norcross-Collins Hill game will have to lose again next week. But North Gwinnett, with top-flight quarterback Scott Hosch leading the way, is just too talented for Duluth. North Gwinnett 34, Duluth 21.

at Mill Creek: No matter what happens in this game, Peachtree Ridge will play for the Region 7-AAAAA championship next week. That certainly doesn’t mean the Lions (7-1, 5-0) won’t show up to play. Mill Creek (4-4, 1-4), which has lost three games by a touchdown or less, would be in the playoff mix with the right break here or there. The Hawks will provide a challenge, for sure. Peachtree Ridge 28, Mill Creek 24.

at Norcross: The winner of this game will likely earn the No. 3 seed in Region 7-AAAAA, considering both teams will be strong favorites next week. Norcross (6-2, 3-2) had been rolling along until three weeks ago, then lost consecutive games to North Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge, dashing its region title hopes. Collins Hill (4-4, 3-2), which was 1-3 at one point, has been playing its best football of the season and has won three of four. With its multi-faceted offensive talent, Norcross has the capability of beating nearly anyone. Norcross gets a homefield edge. Norcross 30, Collins Hill 27.
