Yankees Eyeing Braves' McCann?

Speculation swirls about the future of the veteran catcher and Gwinnett resident.

Here's a prime topic in baseball's Hot Stove League -- the future of Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann.

McCann, a Duluth High grad and Gwinnett resident, technically is a free agent and so is the subject of considerable speculation. One media report says that McCann could be bound for the New York Yankees, who are in danger of losing Alex Rodriguez to suspension.

Another media report says that McCann, 29, could get a deal worth $100 million. McCann made $12 million in 2013.

McCann hit .256 in 2013, below his lifetime average of .277, and had 20 home runs. He played in 102 games, the fewest of his career, after coming off off-season shoulder surgery.
