The seventh-ranked (4-1) dominated the Meadowcreek Mustangs (0-5) 71-6 Friday night in Suwanee.

From the opening kickoff to the final touchdown with 14 seconds left, the Bulldogs controlled the game. North scored 10 touchdowns — one of which came on defense — and a safety, and took advantage of multiple Meadowcreek turnovers.

The only chink in the Bulldogs' armor was their special teams. The Bulldogs had a PAT blocked and the Mustangs ran a kickoff return back 98 yards for a touchdown. The Mustangs had another kickoff return for a touchdown called back by a personal foul.

The scoring started with Scotty Hosch throwing a touchdown to Joseph Jones on the opening drive. After that the Bulldogs kept it on the ground with Donnie Miles scoring on a rushing touchdown. Darion Lovelace and Michael Haynes each had two rushing touchdowns. Joshua Manners had the defensive touchdown.

“I was really pleased," North coach Bob Sphire said. "Everyone who went in the game seemed like they were ready to play, even all of the freshmen. It was great to see that the freshman were trying to play at the same level as the upperclassmen.  When you start putting in your backup players so early you really worry about everyone playing sloppy. Everyone seemed like they had their head in the game the whole time. I was very proud of all my players tonight.”

North Gwinnett, 2-0 in Region 7-AAAAA, is idle next week, before playing at Norcross.  The Meadowcreek Mustangs (0-2 in the region) are off next week, then return home to play Mill Creek.
