North Gwinnett To Stay on Road in Semifinals

The Bulldogs will take on McEachern.

North Gwinnett is getting used to a couple of things in this football postseason -- coin flips and road games.

The Bulldogs of Suwanee will have to play on the road for the fourth straight week Friday, after losing a coin flip with opponent McEachern of Powder Springs. The coin flip was necessary because both teams are No. 3 seeds -- North getting that designation after a coin flip with Norcross and Collins Hill after the regular season.

The teams are in the semifinal round of the Class 6A playoffs, with the winner earning a spot in the title game in the Georgia Dome. Defending state champ Norcross and Colquitt County are in Friday's other semifinal.

For North, it's the first time in the semifinals since 2007, despite several tips to the quarterfinals.
