Olympics 2012: Highlights for Aug. 2

Women's gymnastics among the highlights. U.S. second in overall medals totals.

Amid the hoopla of elections and Chick-fil-A, we need to remind you that the 2012 Olympics still are in full swing in London.

The evening TV fare in the Suwanee area will be entertaining on Thursday, Aug. 3. According to zap2it.com, here are some highlights:

8 p.m.-midnight on NBC:Β Gymnastics (women's all-around final), Swimming (finals: men's 200m backstroke, men's 200m individual medley, women's 200m breaststroke, women's 100m freestyle), Beach Volleyball (men's: USA vs. Czech Republic), Rowing.

Also, a look at the medal count: China leads the overall total (32), with the U.S. second (31). In golds, China leads the U.S. (18-14), as of this posting.
