Parker Helps Collins Hill Win Again

Running back is the Suwanee high school player of the week.

of Suwanee has struggled on the football field this season, but it's not running back Jordan Parker's fault. He ran for 129 yards last week as the Eagles broke a three-game losing streak with a 35-13 win over Duluth, according to news reports.

He had 57 yards on 15 carries the week before, when the Eagles fell to rival North Gwinnett in the season opener. And Parker had 210 yards and two TDs in the season opener as Collins Hill rallied to beat Roswell on the road.

For his efforts last Friday, Parker is the Suwanee Patch high school player of the week.

It figured to be a different type of year for the Eagles in 2011; last year, QB Taylor Heinicke ran a spread offense so well that Collins Hill made it all the way to the state semifinals.

This week, Collins Hill and the other Suwanee teams are idle; the following week, Collins Hill hosts Suwanee rival Peachtree Ridge, and North Gwinnett travels to unbeaten Norcross for a key Region 7-AAAAA game.
