Peachtree Ridge Boys, Norcross Girls Win 7-AAAAA Basketball Titles
North Gwinnett teams fall Saturday at Meadowcreek. However, all the teams now are headed for state tournament play next week.
Though they still are headed to state tournament play, the North Gwinnett basketball teams from Suwanee came up empty Saturday in the Region 7-AAAAA basketball finals.
The Peachtree Ridge boys defeated North, 56-54, and the Norcross girls beat North, 53-38, at Meadowcreek High.
In state tournament play next week, Peachtree Ridge will host Central Gwinnett of 8-AAAAA, and the North boys will host Dacula of 8-AAAAA.

The North girls will host South Gwinnett of 8-AAAAA.
Lexie Brown finished with a game-high 25 points and Peyton Whitted added nine for the North girls.

For the Peachtree Ridge boys, Benny Johnson led with 23 points. North was led by Chris Bolden's game-high 28 points.
The AAAAA boys and girls state tournaments conclude at the Gwinnett Arena in March.
