How Many From Suwanee Will Run Peachtree Road Race?

It's amost time for the traditional Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta -- as in Wednesday, July 4th. So now we ask: How many people from Suwanee will run in the world's largest 10-kilometer (6.2-mile) race?

An interactive map published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution gives an idea. The map shows that about 1.6 percent of the expected 60,000 registrants are from the 30024 ZIP code. That translates into about 960 people. In 2011, .

The map shows that the Suwanee contingent is among the highest population concentrations.

The race begins at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, near Lenox Square in Buckhead. It finishes at Piedmont Park. (See the attached course map.)

With all the heat recently, the situation: Forecast for Wednesday is a high of 92, with scattered thunderstorms; temperature at race time is expected to be in the mid-70s.
