Suwanee Club Hosting U.S. Open Qualifier
The event Monday is to select players for the annual major golf event.
The prestigious River Club golf course in Suwanee is hosting a key qualifying event Monday, according to a news release.
Some 51 players will be competing for three spots and two alternate positions for the annual U.S. Open tournament in June in San Francisco. The Suwanee event is being conducted by the Georgia State Golf Association.
The River Club is hosting the U.S. Open sectional qualifier for the first time, after hosting three previous U.S. Open local qualifiers in 2006, 2009 and 2011. The course, which was designed by Greg Norman, is par-72, 7,212 yards.

The River Club's address is 1138 Crescent River Pass, Suwanee, 30024.
Here are tee times for Monday's qualifier. Play began at 8 a.m., a spokesperson said. The results will be posted on the GSGA website.
