After a scoreless first half, Eli Carrasco scored Collins Hill's first goal as he stole the ball and dribbled in for an unassisted goal with 18:40 left in the game.

Lassiter quickly turned up the pressure, but Collins Hill's defense was equal to the challenge as the back line of Nima Vojdani, Matt Dyck and Josh Fancher refused to surrender a goal.

Amiri Abraham scored the decisive goal on an assist from Emmanuel Raji with 3:56 left to play.

GOLF

NORTH GWINNETT

BASEBALL

Parkview pitching ace Jesse Foster threw 5 2/3 innings in a losing effort against North Gwinnett on Wednesday. But he was back on the mound Thursday and got much better results.

Foster threw another 5 1/3 innings in the decisive Game 3 to help Parkview beat North Gwinnett 11-4 and eliminate the Bulldogs from the Class AAAAA state playoffs.

Jarrett Freeland, Josh Hart and Travis Naraine had three hits apiece for the Panthers to pace a 12-hit attack. Freeland was particularly damaging to the Bulldogs, hitting two homers and driving in three runs.

Sparked by a two-run homer by Connor Jenkins, North led 3-0 at one point.

The Bulldogs close out their season with a 17-15 record.

GIRLS SOCCER

It has been a sensational run for North Gwinnett, a team that has dominated girls soccer in the state of Georgia for the past four years. But it all came to an end Friday with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to top-ranked Harrison (21-0-2) in the Class AAAAA state championship game.

The Lady Bulldogs (19-4) gave up a goal in the seventh minute to Haley Pollack and never found an equalizer against arguably the state's best defense. The loss snapped an 11-game Bulldogs winning streak.

Despite the painful ending, the Bulldogs made a great run and carried an 11-game winning streak into the finals.

Eli Carrasco scored Collins Hill's first goal as he stole the ball and dribbled in for an unassisted goal with 18:40 left in the game.

GOLF

North Gwinnett’s Bailey Ulp has been named to the Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association Class AAAAA all-state team.
