Suwanee Mayor Makes Good on Football Wager

Burnette acts in the wake of the Norcross victory over North Gwinnett.

Suwanee Mayor Jimmy Burnette has lived up to his end of a recent wager with another Gwinnett mayor.

According to the City of Suwanee Facebook page, Burnette has affixed a Norcross-related license plate to the front of his vehicle. This was done to complete a friendly wager that Burnette and Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson made on the recent North Gwinnett-Norcross football game, which was for the state 6A title.

The Norcross plate will remain on Burnette's vehicle through the end of the school year.

Norcross won its second straight state title by beating the Bulldogs, 31-14, on Dec. 14 in the Georgia Dome.

Burnette is a North Gwinnett High graduate and a lifelong Suwanee resident.
