Suwanee Teams Go 2 -1 in Region 7-AAAAAA Openers

Collins Hill and Peachtree Ridge win. North Gwinnett is knocked off.

A week ago, was ranked among the state's top five AAAAAA teams. Now, the Bulldogs are the only Suwanee team without a region victory.

Norcross defeated the Bulldogs 31-21 on Friday in Suwanee, while defeated rival Duluth 28-21 and stormed past Habersham Central 52-0.

And with Parkview's upset of No. 1 Grayson, the state AAAAAA rankings should have a markedly different look next week.

NORCROSS 31, NORTH GWINNETT 21: Blue Devils running back Alvin Kamara rushed for 92 yards, and Clinton Lynch caught two touchdown passes. It was sweet revenge for Norcross, which let a 22-point fourth quarter lead get away vs. North last year. Bulldogs QB Michael Haynes was 23 of 40 for 237 yards, two TDs and two interceptions. North is now 2-1, 1-0.

PEACHTREE RIDGE 28, DULUTH 21: At Duluth, the Lions (1-2, 1-0) got their first win -- and points -- of the season. QB Bryson Sellers had 70 yards passing and 44 yards rushing, as well as a TD pass to Joe Horn. RB Jordan Ellis had 103 yards rushing as the Lions built a 28-0 lead and held on.

COLLINS HILL 52, HABERSHAM CENTRAL 0: Eagles QB Brett Sheehan finished with 275 yards on 22-of-25 passing with three touchdowns. He also had a 40-yard TD run. Colins Hill is 2-1, 1-0.
