Suwanee Weekend: Arts and Food

Fall is in the air, and so are entertainment options.

The art and culture explosion that is fall in Gwinnett continues this weekend with big events happening every day. Below are just a few, so check out the options and go experience something new!

The 25th Annual JapanFest will kick off at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday at Gwinnett Convention Center in Duluth. Music, food, performances and more will showcase Japanese culture and 100 percent of the $8 entry fee will go toward earthquake and tsunami relief in Japan. For tickets, more information or just to donate, visit the website here.

From Sept. 19-22, select restaurants across Gwinnett will be participating in International Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants will offer diners a choice of meals for $21.21 plus tax and tip. For a list of restaurants, visit the website here. I'm a little skeptical about how "international" some of the listed restaurants are, so I'd recommend doing a little research and usually the further away from an interstate a restaurant is, the more likely you are to get real, international food.

Some 200 of the best painters, sculptors, glass blowers and more will be featured in this year's Atlanta Arts Festival. This Saturday and Sunday, Piedmont Park in Midtown will be open for the public to explore the artist market, find great food and entertainment and let the kids create their own works of creativity. For more information visit the website here.
