Food Placed Back in Box With Debris, Other Violations Get Restaurant a 'U'

Suwanee Restaurant Inspections: See the latest health checks of area eateries.

Eastern China Taste restaurant in Suwanee recently underwent a routine health inspection by the Gwinnett Health Department.

The eatery at 1000 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Suite 3 received a "47/U" score on Jan. 21. Among the violations noted were: 

Violation of Code: [.03(5)(j)1&2 ] Observed an open thermal mug of coffee, cigarettes, and a lighter stored on a prep table in the kitchen by the three-compartment sink. The items were removed. Employees must not drink, eat, or use tobacco in the food storage, prep, or cooking areas (unless the drink is in a single-service cup with a tight-fitting lid and straw and stored so it does not contaminate food, equipment, linens, or single-service items).  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.

Violation of Code: [.04(4)(c)1(i)-(iii),(v),(viii) ] 1. Washed green onions were placed back into the original box with debris in it; the box was stored over other cut vegetables in the walk-in cooler. 2. Raw chicken feet were stored over raw pork in the freezer. The items were re-organized. Foods must be protected from contamination by: 1) storing ready-to-eat (RTE) foods over raw foods; 2) washed vegetables over unwashed; 3) storing raw meats according to cooking temperature (raw pork over raw chicken).  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
