More than 50 members of the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena helped clean up the as part of Gwinnett's Great Days of Service on Friday.
Coaches and staff members helped clean up the pools and storage areas, clearing a walking trail, cutting ivy from the ropes course and more.
"It’s always great to come out and help out in the community. The Atlanta Hawks like to give back and we had a great turnout at the YMCA," said Hawks assitant coach Lester Conner. "It was a really great event! We look forward to doing more of it!”
Coaches Bob Bender, Tyrone Hill, and Kenny Gattison also took part in the service event.
Another 100 Hawks and Philips Arena employees worked on three other projects in Gwinnett County.
Now in its 11th year, Gwinnett's Great Days of Service helps to address the needs of community and increase awareness of agencies county-wide. Last year, some 95,000 volunteers helped complete 500 service projects.
