A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the area.

Be careful, Suwanee and Gwinnett. Heavy rain is forecast, and that could bring some flooding to the area on Sunday (Dec. 8)Β and into Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area, effective at 4:07 a.m. Sunday. It reads in part:

A COOL WEDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS IN PLACE ACROSS NORTHEAST GEORGIA. ANOTHER COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA FROM THE NORTHWEST TONIGHT...AND THE COMBINATION OF THESE TWO FEATURES WILL LEAD TO WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN MAINLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF EXTREME NORTH GEORGIA TONIGHT. THE HEAVY RAIN MAY LEAD TO ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING AND SCATTERED MINOR RIVER FLOODING.

Also, the alert reads in part:

MODERATE TO OCCASIONAL HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE. ISOLATED FLOODING WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE MONDAY INTO EARLY TUESDAY BEFORE THE FRONT EXITS THE AREA TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
